4 Steps in Meditation – Part 2

So, the last couple of times, we have been talking about meditation.   The Bible teaches that the key to good success, i.e. permanent success,  is meditation.

But rather than ’empty our minds’ as is done in Eastern practices of meditation, Christian meditation is about filling our minds with good thoughts.

So lets recap what the first 2 steps were in Christian Meditation

1. Think And Ponder

Find a scripture that inspires or motivates you.  Think over the scripture.

2.  Muse And Utter The Words

Begin to speak the words under your breathe, thinking over each word at a time.

Now the final 2 exciting steps:

3.   Speak Out The Words

In this stage, you take meditation to  higher level.  The words in stage 2 were just utterances under your breathe.    As you keep dwelling on the thoughts and uttering the words,  start speaking out the words.  The more you do so, the words will soon come out of your pores, figuratively.

It is like a person that eats lots of garlic, soon, not just his/her breathe has the garlic smell but even their pores!  In this stage, you are oozing the scripture.
In stage 3, the lion in you becomes awakened by your chosen scripture.   You are now speaking these words clearly and with confidence.  Your confidence is being built up more and more each time you say the words.  As you do, your mind is being filled with these words.

 4.  Shout It Out

The final stage, the scriptures have become a shouting scripture.  The lion has been unleashed.  You are growling those words, roaring them out, jumping.  You can no longer contain those words inside.  There is an excitement.

In your sleep, those words are alive and speaking to you.  When you wake up, these words are in your consciousness.  You are one with the words.

It is said a man and his words cannot be separated.  That is now your story.  You begin to find your mind responding to the words you have been meditating on.  You have discovered the power of meditation.

Indeed meditation is  therapy.  Meditation became my life and is still my life.  And this is one way in which I began to win the victory over mental illness.
