Look good on the outside, feel good on the inside

The long, dark fall/autumn nights may leave you all feeling a little bit grey.   It may be a struggle for you to get up on a dark, wet morning and how you wish it was a ‘duvet day’ all winter.   Looking good is essential for keeping you perked up at all times.

Looking good this winter
Are you winterproof?

It might sound like a huge task, but a few simple practices can help in tackling ‘a glass half empty’ mind-set and help get back to a positive outlook.

#1  Look after yourself

The harsh weather can take its toll on your skin.   Getting your skin glowing and blemish free will boost your confidence no end.   It is extremely important to buy the right beauty essentials if you want the best out your skin and achieve that flawless glow.   By finding the right products that suit your skin type you can transform form your complexion from dull and lacklustre to radiant and luminous.   If you can, try to spend a little more on the right cleansers, toners, moisturisers and serums, this can make a world of difference.

#2  Dress to impress

If you look great on the outside, there is no doubt you will feel more confident.   Wear whatever makes you feel happy, whether  a pair of heels or a a gorgeous outfit or your favorite skinny jeans.   Alternatively, it may be time to  slip on your favorite dress that you have not worn in a while.

Try a bit of ‘retail therapy’, buying a few new items like a statement pair of knee high boots or a fantastic winter coat will definitely keep you looking good this winter.

#3  Treat yourself

Whether you indulge in a scented candle, bubble bath, hair treatment or a spray tan, take time to put yourself on top of the priority list now and again.   Put away that list of  jobs to do, and treat yourself.   Pampering is important as it allows you to relax and switch off;  this will help reduce stress, anxiety and tension.

# 4  Walk tall

Looking good doesn’t only come from change of attitude or a wardrobe makeover; it can also come from how you carry yourself.   After a long day at work,  you may find yourself becoming hunched without even realizing it.   Stand up, stretch, drop your shoulders, lift your chin, and straighten your back.   You will instantly look more confident and self-assured.

#5  Get out there

Exercise can also play a big part in feeling good as it releases endorphins the ‘feel good’ chemical into your body.   Being more active will also will help you feel better, as you get fitter you will have more energy.

You don’t have to exercise alone, there are lots you can classes or sports team you can join.  As well as boasting your confidence and getting fit, you may also make some new friends.

#6  Be positive

Refrain from speaking negative.   Say the right thing.  Post postive declarations around the house.  Post reminders too.  This can be anything that helps you feel more confident.  For example, “Don’t forget to smile”, “Walk tall” or “I can do it”, “I am beautiful!” .   When you say the right things about yourself, you will definitely be looking good this winter!
