Recognising Depression in Older People

Depression amongst elderly citizens is often dismissed as an inevitable part of ageing, but it is not good enough to just accept this as a fact of life when it doesn’t have to be the case. By maintaining positive mental and physical health, and with the right support from family and friends, people can continue to lead happy, fulfilling lives long past the age of retirement. If you notice some behaviours which could indicate the onset or existence of depression, now is the time to act. Talk to your elders and try to establish a roadmap as to how problems can be fixed.
