What to do to Stop putting your Life on Hold

Last time, we got talking on identifying if we were putting our life on hold.  People get depressed when they procrastinate on what they know they should be doing.  Often fear is one factor that prevents them from taking that leap.

Stop holding on to the wrong things

##1 Identify in what way you may be putting your life on hold

Make sure you are not doing any of the above l have listed.  You may not be doing so in one area in your life but you may be in another.  For example, why have you not published that book?  You want it to be the perfect book, right?  Even the Bible tells us that if all the things that Jesus did were to be written in the Bible, there would not be enough books in all the world!  You don’t have to say everything in one book.  Make it a saga if you have much to say.

##2  Come out of your comfort zone

Next, come out of your comfort zone.  Guys, we spoke about this comfort zone a while ago.  Check it out.  Remember I said the comfort zone is really uncomfortable after all!  Why?  Because battles are not won in comfort zones but war zones.  By war zones, I am talking about taking the bull by the horns.  Going into the unfamiliar terrain when you want to just give up, but remaining resolute because you want results!

##3  Stop overthinking

Sometimes, we overthink what needs to be done.  We were all ready to go ahead and apply for that exciting position.  It felt right, you got that nudge in your spirit that you were doing the right thing.  That was before you started thinking it over.  You started looking and examining every possible angle of that proposition till it no longer made sense.

##4  Who are you talking to?

Then you went and started talking it over with your friends.  Presenting the ‘hunch’ you have over it pragmatically (i.e. not so positively).  That will definitely put all stops to your track. Joseph in the Bible had a wonderful dream until he decided to start blabbing about it.  He told his brothers who were far from happy.  He told his father; even as his favorite son, his father was skeptical.   What did he gain from sharing his vision?  Being sold into slavery.  Be wise who you share your dreams and plans with!
