The 10 Worst Things to Do Before Bed

Do you have troubled getting a restful night during bedtime?

You may have involve yourself in an activity that will result in difficulty in sleeping.  When the required sleeping time of 7 to 8 hours every night is not followed, it is time for a change. 

Lack of sleep can be a danger in your life.   It is very essential to discipline yourself in getting a good night sleep and wake up with a rejuvenated mind and ready to go on throughout the day.

One certain problem of having hard time sleeping during nighttime is that a person has a lot of things in her or his mind.   Sometimes, this is due to lot of works, anxiety and worst depression. 

Others may suffer from insomnia, this is because of the activities you usually and occasionally do without knowing that it affects your sleeping time. This should be avoided as early as now to spare your life from any health threat.

The following are the things that should be avoided before bedtime.

##1  Avoid arguments

When anger is not properly handled then this may also cause risk on your health and relationship towards other.  Arguments affect a good night sleep.   If things don’t resolve immediately then this may also result a negative outcome when you wake up in the next morning.

Relationship experts always advise to make your room a free argument zone in order for you to have a relaxing and calming night.

##2  Do not overwork yourself

When you work over time during the night, it may be hard to relax.

How are you going to sleep during the night, when you only think of those paper works and reports that has deadline?   Instead, you must know when to start and when to stop your working time to avoid bringing them at home.

You must follow the 8am to 5 pm rule in working.   If things are not finished yet then do it the next day. Don’t bring your work home as much as you can help it.

Your mind and body needs to unwind by getting a deep sleep during the night. This will truly give you a refreshing soul the next morning.

##3  Never use any gadget

No gadgets or technology should beside with you during bed time. Your smartphone and iPad is a big “NO”.   This will surely give you problem in sleeping.

During the night, make sure to take it off one hour before you totally going to bed. You must avoid physical contact to these devices.

##4  Never drink caffeinated drinks

Caffeine is one of the energy booster ingredient.  Thus, drinking beverages with caffeine content during bed time, is not advisable.   It must be avoided so that you get your desired 7 to 8 hours of sleeping time.

##5  Don’t exercise just before bed

Adrenaline rush during exercise is very sensitive, and working out near bedtime is not good.   Intensive efforts will give you hard time in sleeping thus exercising is not worthy.

However, there are new studies that indicates exercising before bed time work for some.   You have the option to do your workouts, it’s either do it 4 hours before bed time or you may want to wait until the morning comes and start your daily exercise.

##6  Avoid alcohol

Drinking a wine glass or two may affect your sleeping time during the night.   The irony is that though alcohol may help you sleep quickly but in some aspects it may affect your resting time.

It is found out in many studies that a shot of alcohol during the night will lessen REM or rapid eye movement.

##7  Do not eat too much before bed time

If you’re eating heavy meals and about to go to sleep, well you’re making your restful night miserable.

Eating too much food 3 hours before your actual bedtime may cause acid reflux which is sometimes considered as serious illness in your digestive system.

It is also said that eating a lot before bedtime may cause you to gain weight because the metabolism process during night time is very slow.

##8  Never drive

If you feel sleepy while driving during nighttime, it is best to ask help from someone who could drive instead of yourself.

Driving while you are tired and battling sleepiness is not a good move.   You can ask another driver or the best way is to ride in a public transportation to feel safe. There are a lot of vehicle accident happens due to the reason that the driver fall asleep while driving.

##9  Never drink too much liquids

Water and other healthy beverage can help you hydrate.   And it is very important to keep yourself hydrated.   But taking too much liquids during nighttime or before going to bed can be a big problem.

This may cause you a large amount of urine production and will let you awake since you will going to the bathroom many times. And this will surely affect your sleeping time over the night.

##10  Never watch horror movies

Watching horror movies before bedtime and you increase the chance of getting nightmares  from it.  Never ever watch it through the night.

 Sleep is essential to every human being. Sleep is where a person cope up his or her energy. It is one way of rejuvenating oneself from a tiring day.

Sleep should not be deprived to anyone. It may also bring a big impact to your health if you’re getting enough sleep.
