Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. He who controls his tongue is stronger than he who takes a whole city.

Satan does not know what is in your mind or spirit. He can only tell from your responses when you speak or act. Speech always brings into motion action in the spirit as it sets a course for desired events. The question is. Whose desired events are your words establishing?

Until you give satan information as to what is in your spirit he cannot judge the effectiveness of his wiles and schemes. We give authority by what we say. If we do not speak what our desired outcome is but rather that which is in response to our perception we have given authority to our perception rather than our spirit.

God is love, excellence, perfection. Love builds, unites and motivates. We are created in God’s image and likeness. Satan seeks to corrupt everything that God has created, therefore, when we speak against what God has said we give authority to satan.

Our speech should only be that which builds up, motivates and unites, otherwise it is better to hold our peace.

Meditations for the day

Psalm 133
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is like the precious oil upon the head,
Running down on the beard
The beard of Aaron,

Running down on the edge of his garments.

It is like the dew of Hermon,
Descending upon the mountains of Zion;
For there the Lord commanded the blessing –
Life forevermore
